Smart City Basel Strategy

The Smart City Basel Strategy provides the administration with a strategic framework to work on the smart future of Basel with partners in business, research and the population as well as the surrounding communities.

The Executive Council of Basel published the strategy in April 2018 with its guiding principle: “The administration of Basel-Stadt uses modern technologies and digital data for the sustainable development of the canton.”

The strategy is a commitment to Smart City Basel – for new impulses, ideas and developments, both as an initiator and a strong partner for Smart City-projects. The administration of Basel implements its own projects and creates the conditions and framework for a smart city – with innovative and cooperative projects, the necessary infrastructure and with resources, laws and regulations.
